Half Light

from Syzygy by Dexter

/

lyrics

Like those who fly… in the late day sun
In the arctic half-light of Bridger Canyon
Existence fades away to being with my soul, and
Memories of the Blackfoot River sounds return me whole

There’s a four-count time, the hope that fish will rise
A deep contentment as the sun rests in the sky
Eventually they say that all things merge to one
And in between all of these things a wild river runs

I’ve been lured by distractions
Let what matters slip from view…

The river’s wide, cut from the world’s great flood
Runs over rocks below the sediment and mud
Where timeless raindrops fell and washed away all cares, and
Underneath those rocks are words, and some of them are theirs

I’ve been lured by distractions
Let what matters slip from view
I could stay here forever
‘Cause these days are too few

I’m haunted by waters…
